Kirkby Colliery Welfare Band
Coronavirus (COVID-19) -With everyone's health in mind, here is a link we advise you to visit:- NHS UK and please follow the advice.
Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the band are still suspended. Usually at this time of year we would be very busy with Christmas concerts and carol playing out and about. This is such an odd feeling as most of us will have been looking forward to entertaining in the Christmas spirit.
Hopefully next year will be completely different. 'STAY SAFE'.
Please have a read of the article on Brass bands England regarding the government guidelines effective as of Thursday 5th November 2020, which affect everyone. I have posted the link here. Or go here for the Gov.uk page which at this time relates to the performing arts generally.
Although the band is suspended for now, rest assured there will still be plenty of "hot air" from us - as we individually practise at home!
We look forward to seeing you all again soon.
Best wishes from everyone at Kirkby Colliery Welfare Band
Our band has a proud history and our heritage stems from the former local coal mine (see our history page). We pride ourselves on our high standard of performance and the ability to play a wide range of music to suit all tastes and occasions.
We love to give concerts and have strong links with local churches and other organisations. We are available for village fetes, weddings, more formal occasions or even in smaller groups if required. At Christmas we can be seen practically everywhere playing traditional carols and popular Christmas music. On Remembrance Day we are out in force to honour our service personnel.
